FAQ

Have questions about fences, permits, materials, or maintenance? You’re not alone!

This FAQ page covers the most common things South Florida property owners want to know before, during, and after a fence project.

1) Do I need a permit to install a fence in my area?

Yes, most cities and towns in Broward and Palm Beach counties require a permit before building a fence. That includes everything from new construction to major repairs or replacements. The good news? Power Fence Inc. handles all of this for you. We obtain the permit, prepare the site plans, and ensure everything is code-compliant before we dig a single posthole.

2) How long does it take to get a fence installed?

Once your permit is approved, most standard installations are completed in one to three days. Larger projects or custom designs may take a bit longer to complete. We’ll provide you with a clear timeline upfront and keep you informed at every step of the way.

3) What kind of fence lasts the longest in South Florida?

Vinyl and aluminum are your best bets for long-term durability in our climate. Both are resistant to humidity, sun, and salt exposure. Wood looks beautiful but typically requires more maintenance to protect against rot and insects.

4) Is vinyl fencing more expensive than wood?

At first, yes. However, over time, vinyl often proves to be the more cost-effective option. You won’t need to paint, stain, or replace panels as frequently, and it holds up beautifully to Florida weather.

5) Do you offer fence repairs or just new installations?

We absolutely offer repairs. In fact, it’s one of the most overlooked services we provide. Whether it’s a leaning post, cracked panel, broken latch, or storm damage, we can help. And if it makes more sense to replace a section or the whole thing, we’ll walk you through your options without pressure.

6) Do I need HOA approval before building a fence?

In most HOA communities, yes. Each association has its own rules about materials, styles, heights, and placement. We’ve worked with HOAs across dozens of South Florida neighborhoods and can help guide you through the approval process.

7) What’s the warranty on your work?

We offer a 1-year workmanship warranty on every fence we install. Materials such as vinyl and aluminum are covered for two years, and pressure-treated wood is covered for five years against rot and termite damage. If anything goes wrong, we make it right.

8) What areas do you serve?

We’re based in Broward County and proudly serve all surrounding communities, including Fort Lauderdale, Pompano Beach, Coral Springs, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, and most of Palm Beach County. Not sure if you’re in our service area? Just give us a call.

9) What’s involved in a typical fence project?

It starts with a free quote. We’ll come out, measure, listen to your needs, and recommend the best solution for you. Once you approve, we handle permitting, materials, scheduling, installation, and cleanup. You don’t lift a finger, we do it all.
